Subject: about the "Hate You" + "Ugly" Thu Jul 14, 2011 1:15 pm
Quote :
The song "Hate You" was supposed to be included in 2NE1's Full Album. But because of the title and some inappropriate lyrics, it was pulled out at the last minute. It was because "Hate You" might be interpreted as "F*** You". It was based on the expression "F*** You"
They changed the lyrics and the title because of Minji who is still underage. So they held out until the 2nd Mini Album to make the necessary changes.
Quote :
"Hate You" Music Video will be done by Marie Kim, the pop artist. She was the one who made the artwork. Thus, I THINK it will be animated. TEASER FOR "HATE YOU" WILL BE OUT ON JULY 18 MIDNIGHT KST!
Quote :
The title track for 2NE1's Mini Album is "Ugly". The song will have a rock vibe with guitar riffs and all. Its going to be a summer song. The MV for "Ugly" will be revealed on July 28.

2NE1’s 1st Concert already sold out “As expected, they are the best!”
Doing well these days with their new single, ‘I am the Best’, 2NE1’s first ever solo concert after their debut has already sold out.
On the 15th, YG Entertainment revealed to enews: “Tickets for 2NE1’s first concert, which is scheduled to proceed for 2 days next month, have all been sold out.” “This is all thanks to the enthusiastic response of the fans who have waited for these girls’ concert for so long.”
2NE1 who had made their debut in 2009 with the digital single, ‘Lollipop’, will be hosting their first ever concert on August 27th and 28th at the Olympic Hall in the Olympic Park of Seoul. They will be having their first ever solo concert within the 3 years of their debut.
The 2NE1 members are currently sweating it out for the upcoming concert. Since Big Bang, also from the same company, have had several concerts so far, they are determined not to lose and are really pushing themselves.
Meanwhile, with the concert coming, 2NE1 will be releasing their second mini album on the 28th. Only a month after their release of ‘I am the Best’ on June 24th, they are showing their drive as they set forth into another round of promotions with this new song.

YG Life Update 110715: 2NE1’s Mini Album Release!
This July 28th, 2NE1’s second mini album will be released. It will include 4 previously released songs as well as 2 new songs. Of the two new songs, “Hate You” will be revealed on the 21st.
Track List 1) I am the Best (Writer, Producer, Arrangement: Teddy) 2) Ugly (Writer, Producer, Arrangement: Teddy) TITLE 3) Lonely (Writer, Arrangement: Teddy, Producer: Teddy & e.knock) 4) Hate You (Writer, Producer, Arrangement: Teddy) SUB TITLE 5) Don’t Cry (Writer, Producer: Teddy, Lydia Paek, Arrangement: Teddy)
-Bonus Track- 6) Don’t Stop the Music (Writer, Producer: e.knock, Arrangement: Choi Pilgang)
About the new song, Hate You
The song that will be released on the 21st, Hate You, has a funny story behind it.
The truth is, this song was supposed to be apart of 2NE1’s first full length album released last September. However due to an inappropriate song title and lyrics, while debating last minute over it, we decided not to include this song.
The reason is that the original title for Hate You was F*** YOU.
Due to worries over the fact that amongst 2NE1 members, Minji was still underaged and that the song may not have a good influence on young children who encounter 2NE1’s music, we kept trying to change the lyrics, however at the same time, we couldn’t find the right words that would be good enough for the title, and in the end, we ended up postponing the song indefinitely.
When producing music, sometimes these kinds of situations will occur. In this song’s situation, since it’s a song that the 2NE1 members really liked, at the constant request of 2NE1, we adjusted the problematic lyrics to “Hate You” and was able to include it in this mini album.
The music video for “Hate You” will also be under the guidance of pop artist, “Mary Kim” and was produced as an animation. The teaser video will be released on Monday the 18th at 12AM… the full music video will come out with the song on the 21st at 12AM.
About the title song Ugly
A strong guitar riff will lead the general song’s atmosphere, and this song is a fast tempo song with a combination of rock & elec. The interesting lyrics describe one’s own unattractive appearance in a blunt manner.
The melody of the chorus that CL sang is perfect for a hot summer, with her refreshing singing style and is very addictive. Taking into consideration the many foreign fans who are into K-POP, the chorus was sung in english.
The Ugly music video, directed by Han Samin, was the most expensive video to produce out of the videos that 2NE1 has released so far. It will be released along with the song on the 28th at 12AM.
The meeting of Pop Artist “Mary Kim” and 2NE1
With the desire to making 2NE1’s jacket design very unique, we were able to meet the pop artist, “Mary Kim” who was already much liked by the nation. Through frequent meetings and exchange, she was able to design the 2NE1 album jacket of course, and additionally take part as a director for the Hate You animated music video.
Although in Korea, it is quite unpopular, it’s possible to think that the greatest examples of when pop artists designed for foreigner’s albums include Andrew Warhol for the Velvet Underground album, Julian Opie for Blur’s 10th anniversary album. Moreover, brand-name Louis Vuitton was able to create several synergies while working in a collaboration with Murakami Takashi for Kanye West’s Graduation album.
This April.. 2NE1’s release of new songs for this year started with Park Bom’s Don’t Cry. The plans will not end with this mini album. I will simply leave you with a lingering image and this hint and end here today.
After 10 months, with 2NE1’s new mini album and activities.. We hope that many fans will show their support for it. Thank you.

Sandara Park, Pants Size is 33? Leg’s Thickness Compared To Other Members
Girl group 2NE1 member, Sandara Park, is hot topic again because of the thickness of her slender legs that was caught when she was wearing pants during a performance, and thus her pants size has become an issue. Last August 14th, 2NE1 participated in a special stage for the DMZ Peace Concert at Paju, Gyeonggi-do, for MBC Changsha 50th Anniversary special show, “DMZ International Documentary Film Festival and Peace Concert.” On that day, Sandara Park had a black Tuxedo-style black concept costume, which appealed to the general feel of the event. With a matching bow tie to finish it off, Sandara Park and her intense eye gazes added fire to the atmosphere. But on that day, fans took notice of Sandara Park’s thighs in the black pants. With her known slim figure, Sandara Park surprised the people who were watching when they saw the effect of the black color on her. In Korea, women in their 20s usually have pant sizes averaging on 55 to 66, but netizens speculated that Sandara Park could be a size 33, smaller than the extra small size, which is 44. In addition, standing on stage with the other 2NE1 members whose legs looked full and strong, compared to Sandara Park’s, fueled the netizens reactions further. 2NE1 Concert, Guaranteed To Be A Unique Experience From Other Girl Groups
Girl group 2NE1's first concert is highly expected.
On the 26th-28th, 2NE1 would be having their first solo concert, NOLZA, in Olympic Hall, at Seoul Olympic Park. Originally, it was supposed to be held only on the 27th and 28th, but because of the fact that the tickets were sold-off the moment they were released and because of the great attention it got from fans, YGE President, Yang Hyun Suk decided to add one more day to the concert.
Since their debut, this group has produced hits and trends, that led them to emerge as one of South Korea's leading girl group. And this concert has garnered the interests not only from fans, but also from the industry. In fact, even YG Entertainment CEO, Yang Hyun Suk was not able to get tickets to give to his friends, because of the high concert tickets sales.
With their comeback this year, they already garnered 5 consecutive hits and all-kills, even gaining more ground for their concert, Nolza, with people wanting to see what more they could offer. Before the start of the concert, let's take a look at 3 points that would be interesting:
Sandara Park's "Cute" Transformation?
Sandara Park, who is the impressive member responsible for their image because of her cute looks and fresh vocals, would be transforming into a "cute" concept. In the concert, she and gagman, Park Myung Soo, would be performing "Naengmyun" on stage.
"Naengmyun" was a collaboration with SNSD's Jessica in 2009, when they teamed up for "Infinite Challenge - Olympic Duet Song." It became popular because of its fun lyrics and interesting music.
Jessica's cute voice was the main "point" of the song, and fans are looking forward to how Sandara Park would perform it.
"Infinite Challenge" Performance... GD- Park Myung Soo - Park Bom "I cheated"
Along with special guests, Big Bang's G-Dragon and comedian, Park Myungsoo, 2NE1's Park Bom would be performing "I Cheated" on stage.
According to YG Entertainment, Big Bang's G-Dragon and Park Myungsoo, would be attending the concert, as guests who would perform their "Infinite Challenge" hit song, "I Cheated."
Before this, YG Producers, G-Dragon and Teddy, fully supported Park Myung Soo's stint in "Infinity Challege," and wrote up the song. Park Myung Soo then demanded that it feature 2NE1's Park Bom, much to the delight of the viewers.
In the festival where Bom was a secret guest, she showed an excellent performance on stage. Thanks to this broadcast, "I Cheated" swept several music charts for the top spot.
A YGE representative said, "For 2NE1's first concert, we wanted the audience to really have fun, so we invited Park Myung Soo to be a special guest on stage, and despite his busy schedule, he accepted without any hesitation," he explained.
Music and Fashion Collaboration
2NE1's concert would not only show off their great music, but will also be combined with a fashionable concept, marked with several intense planning for the stage, to show off the best combination.
Known for being a trend setter in the music industry with their stylish outfits, 2NE1's concert "NOLZA" would be showing several costumes that were prepared specifically for each stage.
Ever since their debut, 2NE1 has always called attention because of the group's costumes and styles. It is already rumored that the costumes for this concert would play a huge impact. The stage outfits would surely be overwhelming and interesting.
In addition, a large screen with hologram, and several other technologies, are placed in the venue, to make "NOLZA" a more enjoyable experience for those attending. Their goal is for the fans to truly enjoy the concert and be able to see the stage.
This year, Don't Cry, Lonely, I Am the Best, Hate You, and Ugly made an unprecedented record for five consecutive all-kills that 2NE1 achieved. For their first concert, NOLZA, amazing performances that will showcase the growth in their skills, and awesome songs, are expected by the music industry.
Special | 2NE1 on a special meeting, and concert site visit This coming August 26 to 28, over a span of three days, 2NE1 would be holding their first solo concert, NOLZA, and prior to that, there was a special meeting made on August 16 at the YG Building. This was for the “2NE1 and Nave Music Event,” where fans who won the event got the chance to meet the girls. Even though they are busy preparing for their performances for the concert, 2NE1 took the time out of their busy day, and the members spent their time teaching the fans choreography and handing them presents, making it a precious and enjoyable time. We’re here to give everyone a sneak peek into that special scene.
#1 | WHAT’S UP WE’RE 2NE1! 2NE1 was busy rehearsing for their first concert in the practice room located at the basement of YG building. The meeting that day was quite different, as it was special. At that point, 2NE1 themselves took the time to teach their guests the choreography of their songs. Everything felt good, and under the warm lighting, everybody enjoyed a harmonious atmosphere as everybody prepared for a full-scale practice.
# 2 | I THINK I’M UGLY~ First, learning the steps of the song, ‘UGLY‘~ 2NE1 went ahead and as one, taught them the dance movements. During every pause, they would look at the fans and smile shyly, then give an awkward laugh right after. Just at these cute members, 2NE1!
# 3 | CAN’T NOBODY & I Am The Best Next, they learned the steps of the number one song of the regular album, ‘CAN’T NOBODY’! At that time, everyone knew the popular point of the choreography, the “waiter dance” which they learned with Dara. The hard dance step was taught by Dara, who said “Thanks to the President (T/N: It was President YG who did that part of the choreography),” and ‘CAN’T NOBODY’ was taught without a glitch. Next, Bom followed it, teaching the step point of “I Am The Best,” which they all mastered perfectly (!).
#4 | A Souvenir Photo After Dance Rehearsals It was a perfect opportunity, fans from places all over the world rarely even get this chance, but a polaroid photoshoot was in progress. Everyone looks so friendly in every shot!
#5 | Although regretful, after a little while… SEE YOU SOON! After their short photoshoot, the fans received a gift package, which 2NE1 themselves prepared. Although it was regretful that the fans only got a short time to be with them, 2NE1 gave them a warm embrace and promised that they would meet again when they gave them concert tickets.
2NE1 invites 30 low-income children to their ‘NOLZA’ concert
2NE1 impressed netizens with their compassion after it was revealed that the girls reserved free seats for 30 children from low-income, multi-cultural families for their first concert, ‘NOLZA‘.
The 30 children are from the ‘Holt Welfare program’, an organization that received $100,000 USD in donations from YG Entertainment to support 100 children earlier this year. The agency is known for their charity work, as they previously donated 10 cents per album sold (1% of their digital profit), and $1 from each concert ticket sold through their ‘YG WITH‘ campaign.
One child happily commented, “I’ve always loved 2NE1 so I’m glad that I received an opportunity I never could even dream of.” The members themselves added, “I hope that we can provide strength through our concert for the children who are working hard to live life day to day.”
‘NOLZA’ will open on August 26th and run through the 28th at the Olympic Hall.

2NE1's First Solo Concert Garners nearly 2.2 Tons Of Rice Wreaths
To commemorate 2NE1's Concert, the congratulatory rice wreaths reached until 2.2 tons, making it a hot topic.
2NE1 had their first solo concert, which started on the 26th, held at Olympic Hall, in Seoul Olympic Park. Rice wreaths that weighed a total of 2.2 tons, included those that were sent by international fans from different countries that included the US, China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Taiwan (T/N: I know that fans from Thailand also sent in their rice wreaths. Shoutout to Thai Blackjacks! ^_^).
The side entrance of Olympic Hall for the staff, which measured 50 meters, were all packed with 2NE1 congratulatory rice wreaths, which was from a 2NE1 Fans united site (T/N: I think it's the site that theBOM started for the specific project), that united thousands of fans that come from 10 countries all over the world. The number of international fansites especially attracted attention.
2NE1, who arrived at the venue on the 26th earlier, were surprised with the large numbers and amounts of the rice wreaths, and gladly enjoyed taking photos. The 2.2 tons of rice would be donated to a facility that 2NE1 and YG Entertainment sponsor.
On the other hand, 2NE1's concert was originally planned for only two shows, but because of tickets sold out as soon as they were sold, and because of the high demand from the fans, another show was added with an additional concert date.

Subject: Sandara Park Make Over Event Competition, Nearly 1000:1 Ratio Thu Sep 01, 2011 12:20 am
Quote :
2NE1′s Sandara Park held the make over event that had the 1000:1 competition winners. On the 29th, right after their first solo concert, Sandara Park‘s makeover event for the winners of the “NOT UGLY” campaign was held. In this campaign, which was participated in by people from both domestic and overseas fans, garnered such an explosive response, that the campaign period was extended twice. Sandara Park, who was busy in broadcast activities and concert preparations, personally took time out of her busy days just so she could read the stories submitted, herself. At last, 12 people were selected. During the campaign, competition ration rose to an amazing 1,000:1, that is, 1000 participants to 1 winner. Sandara Park said, “I wholeheartedly thank everyone who came to me and shared their stories, and I hope that we had made good memories together, and if you remember that you are pretty in your own way, then it will be good,“ she shared, “Through this campaign, I was given the opportunity to meet with fans well, and this is the type of activity that I wish that I could always continue,” she said. Participants in the event shared, “Thank you for the good memories, and most importantly, for listening,” and “In the future, we would live our lives well and continue to love ourselves confidently,” they said. On the other hand, 2NE1′s first concert, NOLZA, which happened from 26th-28th of the last month, ended in a huge success.
On September 1st, people who went to the Daegu Athletics Championships, were able to see Korea’s hottest and best stars, 2NE1, as they visited the Adidas booth at Daegu Stadium.
Fun Activities While Waiting For 2NE1!
When it was announced that 2NE1 would be visiting at 5:00PM, many people from different ages, including a lot of high school students and even an old grandpa, went to the Adidas booth early to catch them. While waiting for 2NE1, a lot of pre-event activities were held to entertain everybody, including a photo session and games, where the winners would get their prizes directly from 2NE1.
I Am The Best! Clad in Adidas Products, Best Sense of Style, 2NE1!
Even though they were late for 30 minutes, the people still waited for 2NE1 excitedly, not minding the heat of the day. As they are known in the entertainment industries as fashionistas, 2NE1 did not disappoint when they appeared in their Adidas ensemble, with a distinct color coordinated outfit for each member; with her pink jersey matched with black undershirt and shorts, Park Bom showed her sporty side, while Gong Minji donned a purple jersey with matching pants; with her funky hairstyle and all black jersey, CL emitted charisma, while with her bright yellow jersey, Sandara Park looked even more cute and fresh! Right after they made their appearance, a lot of camera flashes and cheers went up for these trendy fashion icons as they stayed in the Adidas booth.
Sandara Park gave a cute message and cheer for the World Athletics Championship, as Gong Minji tried her hand at the shot put, followed by a media photo time. After the photo time ended, 2NE1 members sent tweets to Adidas Twitter Followers directly, asking for their comments and feedback, while Gong Minji directly tweeted using her own fan account.
Sandara Park Is A Game Genius? At Once Made A World Record!
The Adidas booth was located at the ground floor, where AdiZero Feather was exhibited, 2NE1 went their directly, followed by people who ran after them. With its light, 190g weight and dazzling color, “Bomtori“ Park Bom couldn’t stop looking and exploring the AdiZero Feather. Also on the ground floor, near the back, was an exhibit which showed the history of Adidasl the girls and other people, also showed a lot of history into how the brand was made. Various games were on the second floor booth, where people could experience different athletic games, and 2NE1 was first challenged to do the discus throwing game. Sandara Park was the first to step up to the challenge, and when she achieved a “world record” on her first attempt at the discus throwing game, she surprised the booth staff, the press, and the audience; charismatic leader, CL, also tried out the challenge.
Sandara Park continued to play amazingly. The second challenge was dart games, and she hit the dartboard’s center when she tried, making Minji’s eyes widen in surprise and causing Bom to jump and cheer excitedly as she made the hit. Doesn’t Dara look really cute holding up the dart pins in her hands? Lastly was the awarding of the pre-event winners, where leader CL handed out the awards, with the 2NE1 members backing her up on stage. The winners were also given the chance to take pictures with 2NE1 in the Adidas booth, making good memories. Unfortunately, the adventure was too short. Until the next time, I hope you enjoyed the report!

Yang Hyun Suk and Park Jin Young chose singers that they would like to scout from the other’s rival agency. On the SBS TV “Midnight TV Entertainment,” the judges to up coming survival audition program, “Kpop Stars,” Yang HYun Suk and Park Jin Young, were guests in an interview. In the program, Yang Hyun Suk chose 2PM’s Nickhun, Wonder Girl’s Sun-Ye, and Miss A’s Suzy, from the roster of JYP Entertainment’s artists. According to Yang Hyun Suk, “I chose Nickhun, who comes from overseas, because he’s extremely good-looking,” he said, citing his reason. Next, he told the reason as to why he chose Sun-Ye, “I first saw her during an old audition program of Park Jin Young, and ever since the first time, I’ve thought that she’s good,” he said. When asked why he chose 1TYM’s Teddy from YG Entertainment, Park Jin Young said that he wished him to come as a singer. Park Jin Young also stated that another reason is that Teddy also makes/produces excellent kind of music. Park Jin Young also added, “I really like to dance and to sing, and I think that the way Taeyang dances and sings is really superb,” he replied, giving the reason why he wanted Big Bang’s Taeyang. Park Jin Young also chose 2NE1′s Sandara Park as his final choice, “I think she possesses a very unique charm, which cannot be seen in other female stars,” he said. Yang Hyun Suk then commented with, “I gave a nickname to Sandara, I call her ‘The Woman From Mars’,” he said, “That’s because she has this really unusual way about her. I’ve known her for years, and I really think that it’s unlikely she’s from Earth,” he said, evoking laughter. 2NE1 nabs 1st place in the Oricon weekly ranking with their debut work, becoming the 3rd international artist/group to do so
Korean girl group 2NE1’s Japan debut mini album “NOLZA” took 1st place in the 10/3 Oricon weekly album ranking. 2NE1 is the 3rd international artist/group to debut at 1st place, following t.A.T.u.’s “t.A.T.u.” in March 2003 and Jang Geun Suk’s “Let Me Cry” in April, 2011. 2NE1, of course, is the first to achieve the brilliant feat of debuting at no.1 for female Korean artists.
As a side note, the 1st no.1 for KARA, also successful as a Korean girl group, was the single “Jet Coaster Love” (released 4/6/2011). SNSD’s 1st no.1 was the album “Girls’ Generation” (released 6/1/2011), and both were the 5th work of each group since debuting in Japan. In terms of the number of days, KARA’s was on 8/11/2011, the 244th day from their Japan debut, and SNSD’s was on 9/8/2010, the 272nd day from their Japan debut. On the other hand, for 2NE1, they took 1st place in just “6 days” since their Japan debut.
The Japan debut mini album “NOLZA” is the first work to be released from YGEX, the new label established by the biggest Korean music production YG Entertainment and avex entertainment. It includes 5 songs that were a hit in Korea, such as “I Am The Best,” the bold electro number that brings forth 2NE1’s unique appeal, “Ugly,” with a catchy melody, and others sang in Japanese.
“I’m too happy and it hasn’t registered yet. With this mini album, we’re showing “the present 2NE1,” so we’ll work hard to show a new form again in our next release. I’d like more and more people in Japan to get to know 2NE1. Thank you.” –CL
“I can’t believe it! But this is the real starting point, so I want to bring even better performances and music and have a good time with everyone. I would be happy if people will continue to have an interest in 2NE1 and support us.” –Dara
“It was unexpected, so I’m very happy. I’m grateful to all those who have supported us. Our activities in Japan have just started, so I think we’ll have more to show in the future than what we’ve already shown. No matter if you’re happy, sad, or having fun, be with 2NE1’s music!!” –Bom
“I think it’s thanks to the many people who loved us and took an interest in us. We’re going to work really hard, and I’d like for everyone to know more and more about 2NE1’s appeal. Please continue to support us.” –Minzy
2NE1 plans to release their next single on 11/16. This single will include the Japanese version of the group’s biggest hit “Go Away,” which was also used as the theme song for Fuji TV’s “Mezanyu~."
