The big day for Son Dambi’s comeback is just around the corner, and today, the female star began her teasing by updating her official website, sondambi.net. The site’s main page is now donned bright white with a giant golden logo in the center, oozing the stylish “bling bling” feel.

The artist’s label, Pledis Entertainment explained that the newly designed logo is one of the “keywords” for Son Dambi’s upcoming album. Pledis also promised that the female diva will be making her return in July.

It’s been announced that one of the tracks in the album will be unveiled in prior to the album’s official release. Let’s just hope it will be very much soon.

Just a few days ago, queen Son Dambi updated her website with a brand new logo in order to prepare for her comeback which is right around the corner.

Well, the diva’s website was updated once again today with a new photo revealing Son Dambi herself wearing a musketeer outfit while holding a sword. D-9 is also printed in the bottom left-hand corner to indicate that the countdown for her album release has officially started.

To get things heated up, Son Dambi will be releasing a ballad track on the 30th titled Can You See. Her title track will later be revealed on July 8th.

In addition, Son Dambi will be taking part in a couple variety shows including SBS Strong Heart with Kahi and MBC Radio Star with After School’s Kahi, Jungah, and Nana to talk about her comeback.

This new picture, similar to the first photo, shows Son Dambi in an fancy blue dress with a foil (fencing sword). Son Dambi, who obtained her title of sexy icon through her back-to-back hits Crazy and Saturday Night, is portrayed in an antique outfit that emphasizes her elegant charisma rather than her sexy appeal.

Fans and observers have had a variety of responses but a considerable amount have been positive. While many female artists have been coming out with overly revealing concepts in order to draw people’s attention, Son Dambi has done the complete opposite and still managed to captivate much attention.

A representative explained, “Son Dambi, who was voted “wannabe” by women in their 20’s for her sexy and fashionable image, is coming out with a strong woman concept. Through this upcoming album, we are planning to show a more diverse Son Dambi. This teaser in no way shows the entirety of the very colorful Son Dambi. From natural and bubbly to solitary and elegant, all of Son Dambi’s many charms are included in this album and we hope that you will anticipate her comeback.”

For those of you who don’t know, Son Dambi originally debuted with a tough girl, tomboy image through her debut track Cry Eye in 2007. After School GaHee will reveal about singer Son DamBi from the same company.

During the recent filming of SBS Strong Heart, Park GaHee and Son DamBi were guest appearances on the show. Especially for Son DamBi, she will be making appearance on the show before her singer comeback.

An official said, “GaHee will be revealing things about Son DamBi on the show. Even though Son DamBi shows a firm and perfect image, her close friend GaHee will be revealing her secrets on the show. This will show a more human and amiable image of Son DamBi.”

Son DamBi is set for comeback in the 2nd week of July.

After many delays, Son Dambi’s comeback date was finally confirmed to be July as it was revealed that she would be releasing her comeback album on July 8th. But prior to her album release, she will be releasing a track from her album titled Can’t U See on July 2nd.

So far Son Dambi has teased us with pictures such as of her new logo and her comeback teaser photo, but today a video teaser was finally revealed!

Son Dambi’s Can’t U See is a medium tempo R&B ballad track that is composed by Bae Jin Ryeol. Composer Bae Jin Ryeol in the past has worked with Rain’s Rainism and Hip Song as well as Strong Baby for Big Bang’s Seungri .

MC Kim Ku Ra later asked her, “Have you ever felt at loss since the unni’s are somewhat aged?” to which Nana happily answered, “I’ve never thought of that.”

As the questions continued to be thrown at her, her short and simple responses made Kim Ku Ra become slightly annoyed and he fretted, “From hearing your talks, you are a total variety show junior. You can’t just answer with a yes or no.”

Nana humorously responded to the MCs asking her for longer responses and droned out the word, “Yesssssss,” instead, making the MCs laugh.

Son Dambi gave us a little tease yesterday for a track titled Can’t U See. Her upcoming 3rd mini-album is scheduled for release on July 8th but Can’t U See has been released today as a digital single download.

Pledis Entertainment stated, “With this track, you will be able to see Son Dambi’s more matured vocals, and she will show a radical image change in her performances too.”

During the past few days, news about Son Dambi’s comeback has been floating around on allkpop. She has already teased her fans with her brand new logo, couple of teaser photos from her upcoming album, as well as the release of one of the tracks from her album as a digital single download, Can’t U See, earlier today.

The jacket photo that was previously revealed surprised fans with a new and striking concept: Son Dambi displaying a charismatic pose while clutching onto a fencing sword.

Another one of Son Dambi’s jacket photos was revealed today through Son Dambi’s homepage (www.sondambi.net) today, surprising fans once again with the photo emphasizing her femininity with a touch of sexy, fashionable, yet elegant essences.

Pledis Enteratainment stated, “With the two styles of ‘modern&classic’ and the album being the single keyword ‘the queen’, these different aspects have been mingled together to produce the jacket and music video. Db Rider will showcase Son Dambi’s dynamic vocal as it’s a pop dance track with dramatic atmosphere. Another track to take note is Beat Up By A Girl in which After School’s leader Kahi took a part in composing. Super Duper is composed by famous American composer Jimmy Andrew Richard, and the track will showcase Son Dambi’s powerful and energetic image.

Son Dambi’s The Queen mini-album will have two versions as one will have a Modern style of jacket photo while the other will have a Classic style as seen yesterday.

Sexy diva Son Dambi has been teasing her new album by posting one picture after another on her official website. Well, just release is her official teaser for title track Queen where we get to see a new side to the star.

In the 30-second clip, we see Dambi in some sort of flying castle, playing a keyboard with some interesting up-beat background music that’ll most likely end up being catchy. She’s rocking some new outfits and new styles which fit her well.

It’s official, the queen is back!



Son Dambi’s mini-album The Queen is set to drop on the 8th, and will start promotions the next day on KBS Music Bank with her first comeback stage.

Just a day before its scheduled release, Son Dambi’s album The Queen was leaked online.

The title track The Queen, Db Rider and more songs were released through P2P file sharing websites. Pledis Entertainment said, “We were planning on releasing the songs at 12AM on the release date but for an hour on the 7th, the album was leaked. Melon.com said it was a mistake. We will protest harshly to go against illegal music sharing.”

Son Dambi will make her comeback on July 9th through Music Bank.

Son Dambi teased us with her music video teaser clip for her title track Queen, getting many fans hyped up for her return to the stage.

Well you no longer have to wait to listen to Queen as her entire mini-album The Queen was released earlier today and consists of 4 new songs for fans to enjoy. Her title track is also a very different style then what we’re used to seeing associated with Son Dambi. Although different, it’s really catchy with a funky beat and the piano playing in the background.

Son Dam Bi's Music Video Was Plagiarized?



The music video of Son Dam Bi's comeback title track "Queen" has been hit with plagiarism accusations, as netizens discovered that it was surprisingly similiar to Syfy TV miniseries called "Alice".

Son Dambi's agency Pledis Entertainment states that:

“We did not think this would start a plagiarism controversy. We will speak with the music video director who will then release an official statement.”

Another case of plagiarism had surfaced in kpop, this time with Son Dambi’s MV for her comeback song Queen.

The netizens have once again went on a rampage towards the diva, and as we have seen before, it is usually the people who work behind-the-scenes that severely impacts the artists’ career.

In this case, the director of her MV was at fault, which made the company step up and release an official statement before things got worse.

Pledis Entertainment stated, “We did not know of the plagiarism issue at all until the problems started appearing last week. We consulted with the movie director and decided to delete the parts of the video where there were issues.”

This isn’t always the case but in general most songs are laid out that way and the measures for each section are generally the same. In fact all of kesha’s songs are pretty generic standard unoriginal pop songs that could be mashed with other songs or sound exactly like it. It is done all the time. Alikstae/Rex Rowdee has done tons of mashups with kesha’s song, or other songs because they sound similar or fit together. Yes her song sounds similar. But there are tons of songs that similar to each other. Pop songs are meant to be catchy and keep you interested. Some sound so generic these days that of course it will sound like something else.

Maybe it was plagiarism who knows, whoever wrote it is the one that knows but you can’t just say oh…that sounds like that…PLAGIARISM!!! It’s ridiculous. I mean i have a youtube channel where i post instrumental versions of kpop songs that i remade from scratch. I have found that many sound similar or use similar/same sounds (because of the programs used) or they fit together perfectly. I have really good ears, perfect pitch from my mom. I am able to pick out pretty much every detail from a song. In 2ne1’s album the songs are really really good. But many are in the same key or have a similar format and so i was able to mash up a lot of the songs with each other or other artists.

Not everything is plagiarized because it sounds similar to something else. I’m not defending Dam Bi nor accusing her but it annoys me that people jump to conclusions when they don’t know much about music, or the industry, or even music theory. It bugs me when i come onto allkpop and see crap about plagiarism. Sometimes it is but a lot of the times its not. I hate how the majority, NOT ALL, but MOST people just assume oh it sounds like this so it’s plagiarized. You need to learn that most music is generic and made in a standard format so songs will always fit or mix or sound similar. It’s plagiarism when its the exact song, like Hyori’s case(not her fault) or the girl that plagiarized snsd’s song.

Don’t always assume somethings plagiarized cause it sounds like another song or fits with it BECAUSE IT’S NOT!

After being hit with plagiarism allegations by the netizens, Son Dambi and her company promised to release a new version of the music video The Queen that would have those questionable scenes removed.

I feel bad for Son Dambi because she really is not off to a great start with this comeback. In the end, it’s not her fault that her music video was plagiarized.

It takes a lot of time and effort for an artist to make a music video and the fact that she had to release a second one is probably upsetting for her.

This music video is pretty similar to her last one. The only difference is that it’s a little more satisfying to the netizens, if they even care now at all.

Sexy diva, Son Dambi, has revealed the type of guy that she would want to be in a relationship with.

During the recent recording of KBS Nocturnal, Son Dambi surprisingly confessed:

“The guys that I’ve dated have all been nice.

Lately, I’ve been wanting to date a bad boy”
