This week’s episode of the “Adam Couple” on ‘We Got Married‘ revealed behind the scenes footage of Jokwon’s only performance of his digital single, “The Day I Confessed“, on Music Core a few months back.

On the day of the performance, Jokwon’s “wife”, Ga-in of Brown Eyed Girls, came to support him backstage as his manager before he went up on stage. As you may remember, Ga-in had actually prepared a surprise event for Kwon, and she went up on stage halfway through his performance and danced as a back dancer without him knowing.

It was only when the couple went back into their waiting room to watch their performance that Kwon realized Ga-in went up on stage. Surprised, Kwon’s reaction was, “What is this, this is so funny!”

Although Jokwon acted shocked and surprised in front of Ga-in, he revealed his true thoughts after the recording during his interview.

Jokwon said, “The fact that a person like Son Ga In went up on stage as a surprise event for me, I think it was my best performance ever” and “I wasn’t embarrassed about the recording at all.”

He ended with, “I feel that getting married was really good for me.”

With the Adam Couple’s Jo Kwon and Ga-in set to make their acting debuts on November 1st through MBC’s daily sitcom, “Request,” many have been wondering about the story behind their casting.

The two have been receiving cast offers since the beginning of September, but had to reject them due to scheduling conflicts. Although the two stated publicly that they were wrapped up in their singing careers, the internal situation revealed to be quite different. One representative stated, “Since the two are the representative stars of MBC’s ‘We Got Married,’ different broadcasting companies try not to use Jo Kwon and Ga-in in their variety programs. They’re afraid of promoting MBC’s variety program in turn. In reality, it was difficult for Ga-in to perform as a solo singer on music programs other than MBC’s ‘Music Core.’ The two were worried about accepting the sitcom cast offer because they were afraid of being boycotted.”

Jo Kwon and Ga-in’s “We Fell In Love” earned much love and attention in the first half of this year, but performances for the song could not be seen outside of MBC.

Regardless, both have finally decided to show their determination in transforming into actors by accepting the recent casting offer. A representative stated, “After a long deliberation, the two have finally decided to join the cast as cute twins. They have expressed that they would like to concentrate on the sitcom for at least six months.”

The Adam Couple was also previously met with controversy after Ga-in’s appearance on Jo Kwon’s “Family Outing 2.” Reports of MBC being angered with SBS using an MBC “product” surfaced, leading many to wonder whether there was any hidden tension between MBC’s “We Got Married” producers and the Adam Couple. MBC clarified, stating that the “We Got Married” couples were to restrict their appearances on other company shows as a couple. Still, both the Brown Eyed Girls and 2AM were met with cold treatment when they attempted to appear on MBC’s “Music Core,” assumed to be out of the anger MBC felt for Ga-in’s appearance on SBS’s “Family Outing 2.”

On the other hand, MBC’s “Request” is set to begin filming in October. The sitcom is about two families that live amongst one another, one being poor and nice, and the other being rich and selfish. The Adam Couple will be playing the role of twins from a single mother, who eventually join the family of the rich step-father.

Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga-in has recently finalized her solo debut date and concept.

According to representatives of the Brown Eyed Girls on the morning of September 28th, Ga-in will be releasing her solo mini album in the second week of October, and she will concurrently kick off her broadcast activities. “Ga-in has been hard at work on her solo album. She filmed her music video in Australia earlier this month. She’s currently preparing her title track choreography in a musical style along with a modern dance instructor.”

They went on to state, “Her title track and musical concept will surely make everyone surprised. She is spending her time in anticipation of meeting her fans with her first solo album.”

Fans are excited to see what Ga-in can achieve as the second member to go solo from Brown Eyed Girls.

Brown Eyed Girls’ youngest member Ga-In is releasing a debut solo album of her own, and the concept photo has just been released.

Her management company revealed that the album will be produced by the same staff that created the Brown Eyed Girls’ “Abracadabra” concept so fans can expect “high quality” results.

The photo shows Ga-in with chic sexy styling and a charismatic look, upgrading her image to a new feel and concept. The music video for her new single will be released October 8th, and the album will be available for sale on the 12th.

On last night’s episode of SBS’s ‘Inkigayo‘, viewers got a nice little surprise, as the teaser aired during the broadcast of the live music show. It has been reported that Ga-in’s mini-album is set to be released in the second week of October.

Though the teaser doesn’t really reveal much, it’s still exciting to know that her solo debut is just around the river bend.

Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga-In worked with a university professor for the classy choreography of her upcoming track, “Irreversible.”

Teaching at the Seoul Arts University, professor Park Myung Soo carefully choreographed the dance to reflect the dramatic lyrics of the track. One such lyric croons, “If you don’t want to love me, kill me.”

Ga-In’s representative said of the partnership, “The first teaser showed Ga-In being thrown around. We’ve been preparing a new type of choreography to go with this high quality genre of music. Because of that, she’s been practicing for the last three months with a university dance professor.”

As a solo artist, she’s definitely experimenting with her concept. Most idols’ dances are simple and easy to learn, but it looks like this one will be more sophisticated and unique.

Ahead of Ga-In’s solo debut performance, on-screen husband Jo Kwon left a message supporting his wife’s endeavours. Like a loving couple, Ga-In responded to her hubby’s message on their Adam couple’s personal me2day, showing off their adorable relationship.
On the 9th of October, Ga-In wrote:

On October 8th, a multitude of viewers believe that they saw Jo Kwon dress up as a girl and perform in the background of Ga-In’s solo performance on KBS’ ”Music Bank“.

Various online discussion boards have been busy raising speculations on the identity of the female backup dancer. Netizens commented, “It’s totally Jo Kwon dressed as a girl,” and “It might be a surprise event by Jo Kwon to congratulate Ga-in’s solo debut.”

In reality, the back dancer just has similar features to Jo Kwon. Once Ga-in’s agency caught wind of these speculations, they laughed out loud and commented, “She is one of our dancers. We have been receiving a lot of questions on whether she’s Jo Kwon dressed as a girl. Her looks are quite girly, but looking closer, we do think that she looks like Kwon as well.”

Brown Eyed Girls member Ga-in has made her way to the top spot on cable music channel Mnet's singles chart with her new song "Irreversible."

Ga-in, who recently began her solo music career, climbed up six spots to No. 1 with "Irreversible," taking her first win during the week of October 11 to 17.

After making her debut in 2006 as one of the main vocalists of Brown Eyed Girls, Ga-in has been promoting her solo album "step 2/4" and title track "Irreversible" since its release in early October.

Other singles on the top three included newly released songs "Instinctively" by SuperstarK 2 contestant Kang Sung-yoon in second and in No. 3 was "In My Eye" by singer Psy featuring Lee Jae-joon.

On the albums chart, girl group 2NE1 reclaimed the first place position with their first full-length release "To Anyone" and JYJ's first album "The Beginning" and the latest from 2PM "Still 2:00 pm" both made their debut in the top three, landing at No. 2 and 3, respectively.

Korean idols Ga-in and 2PM beat out other artists to top Gaon charts during the week of October 10 to 16.

Brown Eyed Girls member Ga-in's latest solo "Irreversible" managed to position itself at No. 1 on Gaon's singles chart, making a nine-spot leap to first place to beat out Supreme Team.

Having made her debut in 2006 as one of the main vocalists in Brown Eyed Girls, Ga-in is the second member of the group to begin her solo career. She has promoted her album "step 2/4" and its title track "Irreversible" since its release on October 8.

Other singles on the top three included former winner "Then Then Then" by Supreme Team followed by the latest song "Instinctively" by SuperstarK 2 contestant Kang Sung-yoon at No. 3.

Meanwhile, six-member boy band 2PM's mini-album "Still 2:00PM" and Ga-in's solo album "step 2/4" both made a successful debut, landing at No. 1 and 2, respectively, while BEAST's third mini-album "Mastermind" dropped a notch to come in at third place.

Ga-In’s recent defeat by 2PM on KBS’s “Music Bank” has sparked a heated debate amongst netizens and industry representatives alike. The “Irreversible” singer had already suffered a loss on Mnet’s “M Countdown” due to their unclear voting standards, as well as their restrictive system of voting (qualifying votes are made through me2day or Twitter only).

Many have already predicted her loss on “Music Bank” as well, since the program seems to cater to artists with larger fandoms.

Ga-in had a considerable lead in every category except for ‘album sales’, causing netizens to discuss the low result heatedly on online message portals. Scathing comments were left, such as, “This was manipulated. JYPE bought back their own albums in order to give the win to 2PM“, “It’s such a disappointment that a group won just because of blind album sales and not because of talent“, and “This is why the state of our music industry is such a mess.”

Part of the blame landed upon Ga-In’s agency, Nega Network, in being too careful with her promotion cycle. Nega Network did not predict that Ga-in’s solo efforts would be particularly fruitful, since Narsha’s solo debut achieved little on the music charts despite garnering much praise for her vocal talent.

Consequently, the agency produced only 10,000 copies of Ga-In’s album. Yet they failed to factor in Ga-In’s popularity from her “We Got Married” status, as she received an immense amount of support from both her fanbase and the fanbase of her ‘husband’ Jo Kwon. In any case, the situation reached a point where even if fans wanted to purchase the album, there were no albums to be sold, causing a considerable drop in her album sales score on music program rankings.

Many representatives also criticized “Music Bank” for their biased points setup. The system is set up in such a way that only the artists with the largest fanbases can win on the show. This is a substantial issue, as album sales are reflected twice as high, in comparison to other categories. Unfortunately, their setup has caused their own name to be tarnished for failing to award Ga-In. 2PM fans also received backlash for buying an excessive amount of extra albums with their recent $150,000 USD bulk purchase, thereby distorting the results.

Netizens have been pooling their support for Ga-In, and are hoping to see her win on ‘Inkigayo‘ with tears of joy alongside her husband.
