DSP Entertainment has always been riding the coattails of SM Entertainment. And well, whatever SM has, DSP wants, except they usually fail miserably at it. Rumor has it that DSP Entertainment may be releasing a new 7-female member group called "Rainbow," sometime this year (possibly as early as March). And it gets even better, each member is supposed to represent a color from a rainbow. Wow, now that's clever! l mean, while spending 2 years of my life in Hawaii, a little Leprechaun once told me, that at the end of a rainbow you'd be able to find a pot of gold. And that's obviously what DSP Entertainment heard too, absolutely brilliant!

The sexy girls of Rainbow recently released a video via Youtube, introducing DSP Entertainment’s new website, where lots of information on the girls can be found.

Rainbows pre debut photo's are garnering much attention especially their graduation pictures.

Photo's of Rainbow's leader Jae Kyung has been surfacing around internet community sites. She has been given compliments admiring her pre debut photo's and her present looks. Some commented that she has a "doll like features".

Also, Rainbow member Kim Jisuk who has gained attention for looking like SNSD's Taeyeon is again being the topic of controversy among netizens.

Graduation photo's of Jisuk has surfaced and netizens are saying that Jisuk looks slightly different from the past and now.

Netizens commented, "Jisuk's face shape is different from the past", "It is something that become excessive".

Rainbow’s leader Jaekyung has been casted alongside Kim Hyun Joong as the model for LG Care’s popular cosmetic brand, ‘The Face Shop‘.

A representative of LG Care revealed, “By observing Jaekyung’s various images and unique charms during her performances, we believe that her image will be a perfect fit for The Face Shop’s model.“

In the past, the list of celebrities who became models for LG Care’s cosmetic brands are known to be A-list celebrities, as they included stars like Jeon Ji Hyun, Kim Nam Joo, Go So Young, Han Ji Hae, Kim Min Jung, Lee Yoon Ji, and figure-skate queen Kim Yuna.

Cyworld are giving out their awards again, and this month it goes to girl group Rainbow.

They have been awarded with the ‘Rookie Of The Month’ award. Rainbow flourished onto our screens November 2009 with their mini album and debut song ‘Gossip Girl’, then early August 2010 they unleashed sexy digital single ‘A’ which was very well loved by fans, despite the controversy regarding some of the dance moves that were used in the choreography.



By receiving this award, it shows just how popular and admired the girls are, as Cyworld is one of the hardest chart rankers out there, so a big well done to the girls for this achievement!

The girls of Rainbow have been preparing to make their return to the music scene, and they’ve just released some teaser photos!

DSP Media released these photos on the 18th to build some hype for Rainbow’s upcoming song, “Mach.” Instead of their girly image, the girls have been made up to pull off a provocative look with their leather outfits.

Their company disclosed, “They’ve only shown innocent and sexy sides. They will show an image that will be upgraded. They will transform into the sexy dominatrix image. “

“Mach” is a fast,energetic track designed to reflect the lyrics about a girl falling in love at first sight and wanting her lover to approach her faster than the speed of lightning.

It will be released on the 21st.

Girl group Rainbow made special cameo appearances in an episode of SBS’s “Daemul“, set to air on October 20th.

In the episode, Seo Hyelim (Go Hyun Jung) announces that she will be running for the National Assembly. Despite the fact that her campaign is going through a slump, she promises to emerge victorious against her rival, Kim Hyun Kap.

However, representative Jo Bae Ho begins to support Kim Hyun Kap in order to push Hyelim out of the running. Jo decides to bring in Rainbow with the hopes of capturing attention in the campaign rally.

Rainbow appears on-set with cosmos flowers in their hair and greets Hyelim lightly. Feeling the excitement of Rainbow’s appearance, Hyelim begins showing off a gag dance and starts off the rally on a fun note.

At the studio, Rainbow said, “No matter how busy we are, we always make sure to watch every episode of ‘Dae Mul.’ We especially love Kwon Sang Woo’s character.”

Pictures of Rainbow on the set of SBS‘ drama ‘Dae Mul‘ have just been released! It was announced that they would be making a cameo appearance in the drama, but through these photos, we get to see what they were doing on set.

The girls will appear in episodes five and six this week. They have been casted to play the part of supporters for Seo Hye Lim (Go Hyun Jung’s character), who is running for office.

Rainbow said, “The filming was difficult and long, but we were honored to meet the cast. We were nervous, but they were so nice to us, so everything went well.”

Kwon Sang Woo said, “I saw member Oh Seungah imitate Son Dambi on TV once and I laughed really hard.” Go Hyun Jung confessed, “I like to listen to ‘A.’ “

Rainbow made a special cameo appearance in SBS’s “Dae Mul” on October 20th, and to the confusion of viewers, were allowed to perform their controversial ’belly button dance’ for the show. Viewer message boards for the drama have been heating up with harsh criticisms and debates after the episode was aired.

For the episode, Rainbow was hired to perform their ‘belly button dance’ in order to capture the attention of passing citizens and attract them to the political rally.

Viewer message boards became flooded with comments such as, “What are the standards of judging whether something is appropriate for broadcast or not“, “Dae Mul’ has the same viewer rating for SBS’s Inkigayo“, “Shouldn’t dramas receive the same punishment as music programs“, and “I was watching the drama with my child and was highly surprised at the scene.”

To recollect, the dance was slammed for being too sexually suggestive when the girls lifted up their shirts to expose their belly buttons. Broadcasting stations banned the dance from airing, which forced an abrupt halt to Rainbow’s “A” promotions.

Girl group Rainbow revealed their thoughts on actress Go Hyun Jung after making their short cameo in SBS’s “Dae Mul“.

The girls revealed about meeting Go Hyun Jung, “She’s got such charisma and force that we all thought she’d be cold and scary. Since she’s such a huge senior to us, we were highly nervous. Contrary to what we believed, she was extremely warm and initiated conversations with us first.”

Regarding their cameo scene where they had to perform their famous ‘ab dance,’ Rainbow laughed, “We explained the dance to her once and she understood it right away. She began dancing it on the spot, even though it’s not an easy dance to get right away. When she saw how surprised we were, she told us that she had seen our performance once. We were very thankful.”



When asked to rate Go Hyun Jung’s ‘ab dance’ skills, they answered, “Definitely 10 out of 10. She danced it so well that it attracted more attention after that.”

On the topic of their acting, Rainbow admitted, “It was really fun. We didn’t think we’d be able to do it properly but everyone around us helped out a lot and gave us a lot of compliments. We got so excited that we began ad-libbing our lines. The director told us, ‘Half of your lines are ad-libs.’ He even tried to come up with corny names for us, which we actually came up with ourselves on the spot. Should the opportunity arise, we’d love to try acting once.”

A representative of the group stated on October 27th,

“On the 23rd, Rainbow happily greeted Joe Cheng backstage at the 7th Asia Song Festival, which was held at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.”

According to their representative, Rainbow went in search of Joe Cheng’s waiting room and revealed that they were his fans. Joe Cheng greeted them individually and was impressed by their charms.

Rainbow members get decked out with luxury items for their new music video!!

The ladies of Rainbow got a luxurious sheen to their image, thanks to the seven different types of designer bags used in their upcoming music video

After they released the MV teaser for “To Me“ yesterday, it was noted that the girls embodied a concept that was completely different from the sweet ‘flower girl’ image seen in their album jacket photo.

In order to transform into ‘luxury girls’, the members were decked out in fancy clothes, makeup, and accessories. Eagle-eyed netizens and fashionistas immediately spotted bags from Balenciaga, Givenchy, Chanel, and Mulberry, amongst many others.

But aside from the bags, luxury cars from Porsche and Audi were also used.

Rainbow expressed, “To exhibit different kinds of charisma, we tried very hard for this shoot. The album jacket and music video’s concepts were different, and our stage and choreography concepts were also constructed differently. We are planning to show Rainbow’s different charms and live up to our name.”

Rainbow will release their new album on April 7th, and will have their first comeback stage on the 8th via KBS’s “Music Bank”.

Rainbow’s Japanese debut song “A” reached number one for music videos on the largest Japanese call bell site “Recochoku” on September 1. On this day, “A” beat SNSD’s “Bad Girl” and reached number one, it shows that even before their official debut, Rainbow is receiving a lot of attention from Japanese fans.

Girlgroup Rainbow gave their fans a Chuseok greeting while graciously adorning traditional Hanbok.

Rainbow‘s new sub-unit, Rainbow Pixie, has finally unveiled their album jacket photo!

The girls released their first teaser for their title track “Hoi Hoi” earlier this week, and have returned with another promotional teaser that shows what their concept will entail.

Contrary to the elf-like image conjured up by their name, fans can look forward to a theme centered around magic. Indeed, the girls dress up in fantastical outfits that pop with color and mismatched patterns, which seems to play up the circus look.
